Cured In Place Pipe

Cured In-Place Pipe (CIPP) is a technology used for repairing underground pipelines.

CIPP is a jointless, seamless, pipe-within-a-pipe solution to repair damaged water, sewer, chemical, and other underground pipelines with little or no digging required. This process offers an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional pipe repair that requires excavation. To create a cured-in-place-pipe, specialized equipment is used to pull a resin-saturated polyester tube into the damaged pipe from a manhole, excavation or other access point. Hot water, ultraviolet light, or steam is used to cure the resin, forming a tight, corrosion-resistant replacement pipe. Depending on the pipe’s diameter, curing time ranges from five to 30 hours and requires careful monitoring, inspecting, and testing.

While CIPP is an ideal solution to pipeline repairs, specific product selection and design considerations must be made to ensure proper installation.

The Composites One technical sales team is adept at helping contractors and municipalities find the catalysts, resins, and other products needed for CIPP and other trenchless applications.
